About Cold Plunge Clubs

Why we exist

Shopping for a cold plunge is unusually hard for a category with only a couple of hundred products in it. Prices span two orders of magnitude. Brands publish wildly different subsets of specifications, so like-for-like comparison is often impossible. And a large share of the search results are either brand blogs ranking their own products first or affiliate pages built from fabricated spec tables.

We thought the useful thing to build was the boring thing: read every manufacturer’s page, record exactly what it says, record exactly what it does not say, and let the gaps be visible.

What we are not

• We are not a testing lab. We have not physically tested these units. Where we express a view, it comes from comparing published specifications across brands, and we say so on every product page.
• We are not neutral about money. We intend to earn affiliate commission on outbound links. Our methodology page sets out exactly which relationships exist and how they are kept away from editorial decisions.
• We are not a health resource. We do not make claims about what cold water immersion does for you. There is plenty of that elsewhere and much of it outruns the evidence.
• We are not comprehensive. Our catalog covers the brands we could verify from primary sources. Brands whose sites we could not reach are absent rather than estimated — including at least one that appears to have gone out of business, which we would rather find out about than pass on to you.

The editorial standard, in one line

If we cannot point at the manufacturer’s page where a number came from, the number does not go on the site. That rule costs us completeness on every table we publish, and it is the only reason to trust the numbers that are there.

Found something wrong? Prices in this category change weekly and we would rather fix an entry than defend it. Send the correction along with the manufacturer page that carries the right figure and we will update the entry and its verification date.
